  • Tanzania Weather | Travel Partners

Explore Tanzania's weather with Travel Partner Ltd. Plan your safari with confidence, knowing the best times to visit for an unforgettable experience. Tanzania Weather TANZANIA WEATHER Weather in Tanzania varies from region to region, but there's always an ideal time to explore with Travel Partner Safaris! Coastal areas experience the hottest and most humid weather, while the North and highlands of Tanzania are cooler due to altitude. Temperatures range between 22°C and 31°C throughout the year, dropping to between 10°C and 22°C at night. Zanzibar's beaches have a distinctly tropical climate being close to the Equator. Tanzania has two main seasons: the wet and the dry season. The wet season (also known as the rainy season) extends from late October to December and from late March to early June, often referred to as the 'short' and 'long rains'. These tropical rains typically begin in the late afternoon and continue through the night until early morning. The rains in Africa are renowned worldwide and offer a soothing, enchanting experience during a journey with Travel Partner! Tanzania weather: The Seasons Did you know that major media companies like National Geographic and Discovery choose the rainy season to film their wildlife documentaries in Tanzania? The weather in Tanzania is fantastic year-round, and despite heavy afternoon rains during the rainy season, the natural environment flourishes. Nature becomes vibrant, the grass turns lush and green, beautiful flowers bloom, animals find abundant food, temperatures are pleasantly cool, and best of all, Tanzania's main highlights are less crowded with tourists. Another advantage of traveling during the rainy season is the lower costs of safaris and accommodations. However, some accommodations may be closed, and road conditions can be poor, particularly in the national parks in South Tanzania. For travelers visiting Tanzania during the rainy season, several national parks remain open and ready for exploration with Tanzania Specialist, including Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Lake Natron, and Arusha National Park. It's advisable to avoid Nyerere, Ruaha, Mikumi & Udzungwa National Parks during this time. So if any of these destinations are on your must-visit list in Tanzania, plan your trip for the dry season. Can I go on Safari during the rainy season? The rain creates a lush landscape teeming with wildlife. This abundance of food and water makes animals more active, resulting in a fantastic safari experience. During the rainy seasons, animals thrive, and with thousands roaming the landscape, there are ample opportunities for sightings. Moreover, the rain offers protection from the harsh sun, contributing to the animals' well-being. Many of our safari guests attest that the rainy season provides a more intimate safari experience. For bird enthusiasts, this time of year is particularly rewarding as numerous migratory birds arrive. • Tanzanian Cuisine | Travel Partners

Explore the vibrant flavors of Tanzanian cuisine with Travel Partner Ltd. Indulge in a unique culinary experience while on a safari tour in Dar es Salaam. Discovering Tanzanian Cuisine and Culture Have you ever wondered what people eat in Tanzania? Look no further! Tanzanian cuisine boasts tropical flavors and East African staples. Despite misconceptions portraying East African food as bland or the regional diet as poor, Tanzania's fertile land, regular rainy seasons, abundant sunshine, and equatorial location foster an ideal tropical environment and year-round growing seasons. East African cuisine melds the freshest ingredients with influences from around the world: Persian dishes, Indian spices, and Portuguese-style barbecue techniques all contribute to the culinary tapestry. Additionally, tourist destinations across Tanzania cater to diverse palates, offering Italian, Greek, English, Chinese, and Indian restaurants in large towns and cities. Whether exploring eateries or indulging in the in-house restaurants at your lodge or hotel, you're bound to savor delicious meals that cater to your taste! This guide delves into Tanzanian food, highlighting traditional dishes, popular foods, and fusion cuisine worth sampling. Your safari adventure isn't just about wildlife; it's about immersing yourself in Tanzania's natural beauty, history, and culinary delights. Embarking on a Culinary Journey Historically, Tanzania's cuisine reflects its role as a trade crossroads with the ancient Arab world and India. This interaction shaped Tanzanian dishes, with some traditional foods echoing Indian curries or spices, while others showcase local ingredients like bananas or coconuts. With over 100 distinct tribes, each with its language, customs, and traditional foods, Tanzania's culinary landscape is rich and diverse. Tanzanian Gastronomic Traditions In Tanzania, many restaurants are simply referred to as "hotels," which might confuse tourists seeking only a meal. However, rest assured, many "hotels" are standalone food establishments, not accommodations. Don't be surprised if a local invites you to a "hotel" - it's likely just for lunch or dinner. While eating is a social affair in Tanzania, there are unique social norms surrounding food. Eating while out and about, such as walking down the street with a burger in hand, is generally frowned upon. It's expected that everyone eats at a restaurant or a proper table. Eating in public during Ramadan is especially discouraged, as it's considered disrespectful during this holy month. Cultural Gastronomy: A Tapestry of Taste In Tanzania, it's common to eat with your hands, especially when enjoying dishes like ugali. However, utensils are readily available upon request. Handwashing before and after meals is customary, with many establishments providing handwashing sinks or servers bringing warm water and soap to your table. Exploring Tanzanian Street Food: An Authentic Adventure Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are readily available in Tanzania. From beans and rice to fresh fruit salads, there's something to suit every dietary preference. Seafood lovers can relish fresh catches along the coast, while meat enthusiasts can indulge in beef, goat, sheep, or pork dishes, depending on the region. Accommodating Special Dietary Needs Tanzanian coffee is a must-try, boasting rich flavors and grown in the country's highlands. Sample Tanzanian coffee in cafes like Msumbi Coffee in Arusha or Union Cafe in Moshi for an authentic experience. • When to visit Tanzania | Travel Partners

Plan your perfect trip to Tanzania with Travel Partner Ltd! Discover the best times to visit for an unforgettable safari experience. When to visit Tanzania Many travelers ask us when the best time is to visit Tanzania. The answer is... there isn't one right answer. It depends on what you want to see, where you want to go, your budget, and interests. Every time of the year has its pros and cons. Some people prefer to visit Tanzania during the dry season when roads are better, there's less rain, and wildlife sightings are plentiful. Others are fine with a little rain during the wet season, where they can enjoy lush landscapes, colorful nature, and fewer tourists. We've compiled a list of pros for both the dry and wet seasons in Tanzania to help you make your choice. Everyone is different, so there's no correct answer. A Tanzania travel experience is beautiful all year round! The dry season starts in June and ends in October, also running from December to March. The most popular months for a safari in Tanzania are during the dry months from June to October. The pros of traveling during this dry season include: Wildlife gathers around rivers and waterholes, making them easier to spot. Pleasant temperatures of 25-27°C with sunny weather and no rain. July/August are great months to witness the wildebeest migration and epic river crossings. There are fewer mosquitoes. The roads are better, making game drives easier. It's the best time to visit the southern parks, although northern parks can be visited all year. Cool temperatures from evening to early morning. Clear blue skies. Best conditions for climbing Kilimanjaro are during the dry months. Dry Season The wet season (also known as the rainy season) runs from October to December and from March to June. The pros of traveling during this wet season include: Nature is vibrant and colorful, with flowers in bloom and lush greenery. The parks in North Tanzania offer good wildlife viewing all year round. January to February is the time to witness the calving in the southern Serengeti, attracting large numbers of predators. It's the best time for bird watching. The game is in good condition. Lower rates make it a more affordable safari option. Parks are less crowded, offering a more intimate safari experience. Tanzania has three different holiday seasons: High season: January, February, June to October, and December. This season is the most popular among tourists, so hotels charge the highest rates. Some hotels may even have peak rates from December 22nd to January 10th. Mid-season: March, November 1st to December 21st. Low season: April and May. This season is the least popular, so hotels charge the lowest rates. Wet Season Want to speak to one of our talented booking agents for a more tailored experience? Request a travel proposal
